A well stocked fully computerized central library is the heart of the institution.It is housed in a spacious area of 720 sq m, fully computerised and with various sections like reference section, periodicals section and stack area. Presently, there are more than 7000 books and reference volumes provided for the benefit of staff and students. It provides more than 10000 volumes of books through Book Bank Scheme (General) and subscribes more than 80 specialized National journals, Newspapers, weekly and fortnightly magazines of repute are also available to enable the students to keep abreast of day-to-day trends in the country. The Central Library subscribes eight online journal packages which covers 15312 online journals.
All students, faculty members and employees of the institute are eligible for the membership of the library.

NPTEL (National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning) provides e-learning through on line web and Video courses in engineering Technology, Science and humanities streams, which helps to enhance the quality of engineering education. In our college library the NPTEL contains 135 Video Lectures.
Internet is one of the best sources of getting information on any subject.The Central Library had made arrangements to provide Internet search access to its members with the help of 30 user systems.
The LMS software is used for Library Automation. The transactions of the Library are fully automated with RFID technology. This software covers the entire library activities, such as Acquisition, cataloguing, circulation (issue, return, renewal, reservation), Serial Control, Online Public Access Catalogue [OPAC] and generating various types of Reports and Statistics.

CONFERENCE ROOMS AND SEMINAR HALLS
Spacious ,Convenient and air - conditioned halls in the college campus serve as meeting points for the active interaction among students and staff through seminars ,paper presentations and meetings.It has excellent fully Air – conditioned Auditorium having a seating capacity of 1500 students. It has a permanent infrastructure in terms of chairs, permanent stages with full length screen, LCD projector system and PA system facilities.It is the venue where the students get an oppurtunity to display their talents in extra curricular activities.
A home away from home is provided for boys and girls seperately in the form of hostels.The architechurally designed buildings and the surroundings offer a cool ,green ,pleasant and eco-friendly atmosphere ,which stimulate positive learning .It provides a lively environment which helps in healthy interaction among the students.A huge mess with dinning hall, kitchen and other facilities are provided to students.A variety of homely .tasty and nutritious food ensures the good health and happiness of the students.
Each room is provided with celling fans, tables, chairs, cupboards ect.,. Bathrooms are kept clean and are fitted with geysers and other recreational facilities like indoor games. A well equipped gymnasium is also available. Each block has purifier which provides cool ,hot ,normal water for all the seasons.Medical facilities are also provided for the students along with ambulance facilities.
The college is easily acessible from Trichy and other parts of the state by the state-operated transport service.In addition,the college operates buses for the convenience of students from the vicinity.The efficient transport facilities ensure that the students and staff are able to reach the college in time with utmost ease. At present twenty buses are plying on different routes.
TRTPEC separately houses canteen facilities to provide refreshment to the students.The Canteen offers a range of snacks and beverages at reasonable prices for the benefit of the day-scholars and others.
Department of Physical Education
Physical education, a learning experience, offers a unique opportunity for problem - solving and self-expression and socialization. A well implemented and comprehensive programme is an essential component to the growth of both mind and body. The Department of physical education of T.R.P Engineering College solely works to develop the body and mind of the student to work coordinately. Physical Education is a sequential educational program. It is based on physical activities undertaken in an active, caring, supportive and nonthreatening atmosphere in which every student is challenged and successful. Students with disabilities are provided with a learning environment that is modified, when necessary, to allow for maximum participation.TRPEC is having a fine track, a ground for for football, cricket, courts for volley ball and basket ball, courts for tennis,badminton, rooms for chess, carom, and gym also available in the college campus.

About the Head of the Department
Qualification: B.Sc,M.P.Ed.,M.Phil, (Ph.D).
Designation: Director of Physical Education.
Having served 16 years in S.R.M Arts and Science College has got rich experience in the field of physical education. Thus far, has presented 5 papers in national conference and has visited Srilanka and Malaysia. Has been the sports advisory committee member of Madras University in the year 2006-07 and 2009-2010. Also the board of study member of the University of Madras for the period 2010-2013. Has the credential of organizing many national and international events and have been the manager and coach for chess, cricket, badminton, basketball and volleyball.
The department is still under development and is expected to become fully fledged in short span of time. A sound infrastructure over a vast area will provide all the necessary facilities to the individual. Indoor courts for various games (Badminton, Carrom, Chess, and Table Tennis.) and good outdoor ground (Basket Ball, Ball Badminton, Cricket, Foot Ball, Hand Ball, Throw Ball, Tennis, Volley Ball, and Treack and Field) to be constructed for all the sports. A swimming pool according to international standards is also to come up very shortly.
This College Students are divided into four Houses (Red, Green, and Blue & Yellow). We have conducted various sports events for students & Staff members from January 24th to February 03rd, 2011.
